Beer Garden Rules

The Pontiac Agricultural Society is committed to providing a safe and enjoyable environment for all patrons. The following rules apply to all persons entering the Beer Garden.

Age Verification

  • Alcohol will only be sold or served to persons 18 years of age or older.
  • Patrons wishing to purchase or consume alcohol must present valid government-issued photo identification upon request.
  • An Age of Majority Wristband must be obtained before alcohol can be purchased or consumed.
  • Anyone unable to provide satisfactory proof of age will be refused service.

Responsible Alcohol Service

  • No alcohol will be sold or served to an intoxicated person.
  • Service may be refused to any person whose behaviour indicates intoxication or impairment.
  • Management reserves the right to limit alcohol sales or service at any time in accordance with responsible beverage service practices.
  • Maximum purchase: 4 drink tickets per transaction.
  • Maximum service: 2 alcoholic beverages per person at one time.

Hours of Operation

  • Drink ticket sales end at 12:00 a.m. (Midnight).
  • Alcohol service ends at 12:30 a.m.
  • All patrons must comply with closing procedures as directed by staff and security.

Minors

  • No person under 18 years of age may purchase, possess, or consume alcohol.
  • As a Shawville Fair policy, no minors are permitted in the Beer Garden after 7:00 p.m.
  • Any minor found consuming or in possession of alcohol will be removed from the Beer Garden and Fairgrounds.

Conduct

The Shawville Fair maintains zero tolerance for:

  • Intoxication;
  • Fighting or violent behaviour;
  • Harassment, abusive, threatening, or disrespectful conduct;
  • Damage to persons, animals, or property;
  • Failure to comply with these rules or directions from staff.

Violations may result in:

  • Immediate refusal of service;
  • Removal of the Age of Majority Wristband;
  • Immediate expulsion from the Beer Garden and Fairgrounds;
  • No re-entry for the remainder of the event.

Enforcement

  • The Pontiac Agricultural Society authorizes Fair Management, PAS Directors, Security Personnel, and the Sûreté du Québec to enforce these rules.
  • By entering the Beer Garden and Fairgrounds, all patrons agree to comply with these rules and with the directions of authorized personnel.
